Can I confess something? I have to say that I really miss being on the 2 Sketches 4 You DT. Laura and Kazan are the sweetest ladies! They are so creative and share their creativity through the sketches and cards that they provide each week! The artists with whom I had the honor of being on the DT are the best! They are so very talented, and I am still inspired by them each time I visit their blogs!
Anyway, I just wanted to say that even though I don't have the benefit of working with the sketches a week in advance, I still have the pleasure of working with them each week after they've been posted on Monday! :-D
Today, I created a card using Kazan's fabulous sketch 13:
Here's my take on the sketch...I used a clear card base from ShortCuts. I still have one of these clear bases left (which I'm hoarding until I order more! ;-D ).
The embellishments that are on the top of the card are the chipboard star, flower, sentiment sticker, and the rhinestone swirls. As I mentioned in a previous post about working with clear cards, one of the challenges is to make everything look neat inside as well as on the outside. For this card, I cut a rectangle and star from the patterned paper to create a border around the sentiment sticker and chipboard star. These are both adhered on the inside part of the card right underneath the sentiment sticker and star. Not only do these cut-out elements create borders, but also hide the messy adhesive that I used to adhere the sticker and star to the top of the card:
Patterned paper: Making Memories
Sentiment sticker, glittered chipboard star: Melissa Frances
Rhinestones: Prima
Clear card base: ShortCuts
Metallic pen: Sakura

First of all...WOW!!!!! Another stunningly gorgeous creation! And I am so glad to see your interpretation of the 2S4Y sketches still!!! You know how much I LOVE your work! What did you do on the flower by the way? Did you emboss it with silver powder, or is that glitter? Looks amazing!!! And it won't be a surprise what my favorite card on the Shortcuts Blog is....of course it's yours...I just LOVE everything you make, but your most recent one is my favorite:
